I reinstalled the package (without updating the drivers) and everything works as before. Open Command Prompt: click Start > in the search box type cmd.exe > right-click on the appeared program > Run as administrator. It could no longer 'find a suitable Audio device'. Responsible system accounts are not in the local Administrators group. Expand the entry Sound, Video and Game Controllers Right-click the problematic device it is either Realtek Audio, or AMD High definition Audio or High Definition Audio this varies on the audio device installed in your PC and select Uninstall device. In the Device Manager (press cmd+R combination > type devmgmt.msc > hit Enter) the audio device is up and running (there are no exclamation, question, 'down arrow' marks next to device icon): Use shortcut keys Windows key+ X on Windows 10.

When right-clicking the audio icon in the notification area > Troubleshoot sound problems, it says Audio device is disabled: Red cross next to the audio icon in the Windows task bar notification area.
