RCPI's International Clinical Fellowship Programme (ICFP) offers clinical training to international doctors who are sponsored by their government, hospital or national training body. Unfortunately, HR is saying without work-permit Clinical Observership is not allowed.It came up as a huge surprise as this is an unpaid position and also she will not be even working with the Patients.Can anyone shed some light on to this? We already knew few of her friends did Observership before and this was never an issue.Are you an ambitious doctor seeking advanced training in your specialty? This is clearly for the experience purpose.She already found a Consultant who is willing to support Clinical Observership. At the same time, a person cannot even deal with the patients or administer medicine at that time. Clinical Observership is unpaid and is to get experience only.
